NEW YORK (December 18, 2019)- Rugby United New York announced today the re-signing of three athletes that appeared during the 2019 Major League Rugby season. American based players have started reporting to New York City for training camp, with the mandatory training camp’s start date set for January 3rd.
Ryan, Prop, spent the 2018 MLR season with the Austin Elite (now Herd) before making the move to New York last offseason. He earned 13 caps, totaling 758 minutes, during his first season as a Rooster. The 29-year-old Tighthead specialist was credited with 88 tackles while contributing for 384 meters on the ground and scoring three tries. Ryan was included in the United States National Team’s larger training group prior to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and has earned seven (7) caps in his international career to date.
Denise, Flanker, extends his contract for an additional year after an impressive first season in Major League Rugby. He earned two (2) caps totaling 23 minutes, debuting from the reserve’s bench against the Colorado Raptors on March 24th. Pradere was credited with 8 successful tackles as well carrying three (3) times for 34 meters.
