MAGNERS BECOMES OFFICIAL HARD CIDER OF RUGBY UNITED NEW YORK

NEW YORK (February 14, 2019)- New York’s first professional rugby franchise, Rugby United New York, announced Magners® Irish Cider as an Official Sponsor for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Recognized as one of the most distinguished drink brands in European rugby, Magners will become the Official Hard Cider of Rugby United New York.
The one-year agreement between Magners and the MLR expansion franchise will run for the remainder of the 2019 season, offering the drinks brand numerous activation opportunities both in stadium and in the community.
Per the agreement, Magners will become the presenting sponsor of all Official Rugby United New York Watch Parties held at the Pig n’ Whistle on 36th street, beginning this Saturday at 3 PM EST, when RUNY faces off against undefeated, league leaders NOLA (New Orleans) Gold. In addition to those rights, Magners will become the presenting sponsor of the Man of the Match award, presented at the end of each competition.

RUNY kicked off their inaugural Major League Rugby season with a historic win, 25-23, at the San Diego Legion. Their season continues this Saturday, February 16th against the New Orleans Gold, who are currently undefeated and a top of the league table. It will be broadcast LIVE on SNY, ESPN+, and Facebook for our international fans.
