EVF PERFORMANCE BECOMES OFFICIAL GYM PARTNER OF RUGBY UNITED NEW YORK
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE :
NEW YORK (March 21, 2019) – New York’s first professional rugby franchise, Rugby United New York, announced today that EVF Performance will be the Official Gym Partner of the organization. The partnership grants RUNY access to a state-of-the-art gym that is located directly in Midtown Manhattan.
EVF Performance, located near Columbus Circle and on the Upper East Side, has become an acclaimed strength, conditioning, and personal training facility for both adults and youth. After 20 years in the fitness industry, founder Eric Von Frohlich (EVF) wanted to create a place where everyday people could push their limits while feeling safe and motivated.
The first EVF Performance location opened its doors on the Upper East Side in June 2012, with the second gym opening on the West End in March of 2014. EVF Columbus Circle, where the RUNY athletes train, boasts a large floor plan and was the first CrossFit gym in NYC to offer high-end amenities, in addition to being open on Sundays.
EVF Columbus Circle is at the center of a former industrial area that has become a revitalized, vibrant residential neighborhood and is proud to be a thriving part of the community. During the summer months, EVF members walk just a block to the scenic Hudson River to enjoy outdoor classes with a one-of-a-kind view.
“I am beyond excited for our new partnership with Rugby United New York and EVF Performance,” stated EVF Columbus Circle Head Coach Patrick Frank, “It’s great for our community and New Yorkers to see these elite-level athletes using strength and conditioning to get stronger, faster, stay healthy, win matches, and stay injury free. EVF and RUNY are a great fit on many levels, and I’m excited to see RUNY, as a club and as athletes, grow within our doors and out on the pitch.”
“At EVF Performance, we view all of our members as athletes,” added Sales and Membership Services Manager Colin Gray, “Some members perform in powerlifting competitions or race in marathons or triathlons. Others work hard every day to balance work and family, while maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle. This partnership with RUNY is especially exciting because it completes the spectrum — having high-level professional athletes training at our facility really speaks to what EVF is all about: functional, athletic training that benefits everyone.”
“We are lucky to be using these state-of-the-art facilities,” RUNY Director of Rugby James English said. “We already have seen the value that EVF provides for this organization, and we are very much looking forward to building this partnership, and growing our brands together.”
RUNY has kicked off their inaugural Major League Rugby season in a big way, winning 5 out of 6 games, going 4-1 on a grueling road schedule to start the year. Their season continues this Sunday, March 24th, when New York’s rugby franchise hosts the Glendale Raptors. You can purchase tickets for the game, Major League Rugby’s Game of the Week, here.
