Bawnmore Becomes Official Snack Partner of Rugby United New York
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BAWNMORE BECOMES OFFICIAL SNACK PARTNER OF RUGBY UNITED NEW YORK
NEW YORK (March 22, 2019)- Rugby United New York is pleased to announce that Bawnmore has become the Official Snack Partner for the remainder of the 2019 Major League Rugby season. Bawnmore, which makes snacks such as jerky and biltong exclusively from Irish beef, was founded by Irishman Ed Russell.
Rugby United New York will utilize the beef jerky and biltong as a top-quality protein snack during the grueling Major League Rugby competition. Look out for athletes such as Dylan Fawsitt, Ross Deacon, and Marcus Walsh consuming the snack throughout their gameday routine.
“Bawnmore is excited to support the growth of rugby in New York and the United States,” Russell said. “RUNY and Bawnmore have a lot in common as both are new brands based in the New York area, with a health and fitness focus and a strong Irish connection.”
“We are always looking for a competitive advantage,” RUNY Director of Rugby James English said. “We believe Bawnmore can provide value as an appetizing and healthy food option for our athletes to consume in the clubhouse. We are looking forward to growing together.”
RUNY has kicked off their inaugural Major League Rugby season in a big way, winning 5 out of 6 games, going 4-1 on a grueling road schedule to start the year. Their season continues this Sunday, March 24th, when New York’s rugby franchise hosts the Glendale Raptors. You can purchase tickets for the game, Major League Rugby’s Game of the Week, here.
Bawnmore is the first and only protein snack range that is made in the United States exclusively from Irish beef. Bawnmore’s all-natural jerky and biltong are gluten-free and contain no added sugar, making them the perfect anytime, everyday snack for health-conscious women and men. As well as being ‘Fed with Irish Grass’, each piece of Irish beef is fully traceable back to the farm and herd from which it came. Irish beef is also hormone-free and sustainably produced, coming from farmers whose families have been stewards of the land for several generations. Bawnmore imports this wonderful beef to craft their jerky and biltong, using simple, clean recipes that leave out the sugary ingredients found in many other brands. The three varieties of Bawnmore currently available (Original beef jerky, Rendang beef jerky and Traditional Biltong), are sold in popular stores across NYC and New England, as well as on Amazon.
Bawnmore’s founder Ed Russell is a native of Ireland but moved to the US several years ago. He played rugby for clubs in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania prior to moving to the New York area.
